Tim Hawkins. . .

I needed a little cheering up today.  A whole host of heavy, worrisome issues has descended on our family, and we're a little emotional and burdened around here at the moment.

Don't get me wrong, we'll survive.  Everything is going to be okay.  It's just going to be a bit of a slog for awhile.  Probably a long while.

So, today, I needed a little boost. . .a little something to lighten the mood a bit.  I decided to seek out someone I often turn to. . .someone who is always there when I need him, always makes me smile and with whom I feel I can escape my troubles, if even for a little while.  When I am with him, I lose all track of time. . .and sometimes end up in a fair bit of pain.  From laughing, that is.

Tim Hawkins rocks.

If you haven't heard of him, but are a fan of, you know, laughing until you cry, you should look him up.  He's a Christian comedian, though he addresses everything from marriage to raising kids to his obsession with Chik-Fil-A, and he is AWESOME.

He's ever-so-slightly irreverent, too, but 'clean' and generally okay for the whole family to watch.  He's a talented musician and some of his best bits are based around either songs he's written or spoofs of current hits.   Check out his YouTube channel and watch 'Yoga Pants' to see what I mean.

Hil-ar-i-ous.

I spent about an hour with him today, snuggled up with my boys and guffawing out loud.  It's amazing how de-stressing that is.

Laughing, I mean.  And snuggling up with my boys.

Sometimes, that's all you really need to help yourself put one foot in front of the other and face another day.

“Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh."  Luke 6:21

  1. I took your advice an looked up Tim Hawkins on YouTube. Slightly irreverent, but very funny. Definitely worth watching. Thanks for the laughs!

  2. Most of his stuff is so 'clean' you could eat off of it. . .but some is, as you say, slightly irreverent. That pretty much sums up our family, I must confess. :)
