Introducing. . .The Practical Pioneer

For those of you who've followed the evolution of our blog on My Little Prairie Home, you've probably noticed that I write about anything from homemaking tips to kid stuff to what's in the news to whatever else seems relevant to me at the moment.  Not a whole lot of focus.  A whole lot of fun, mind you, but a little all over the place.

One of the things that's become quite apparent as we've gone along in the last year or so since launching is that, though we have the most wonderfully varied demographic spending time with us here, there is definitely one growing subset of folks that come to our site. . .the homesteader/pioneery kind.  And they've asked (politely, of course) to have a more focused place to get the specific kind of info they are after. . .recipes, pioneer skills, tips on being frugal and home made products, etc.

I'm not sure why they don't adore reading about my 8 year old's adventures in snowboarding, or about our rabid food competitions, but hey, different strokes for different folks!

Plus, a literary agent suggested that I focus one blog in the direction of some upcoming book projects.  So here we are. . .on the birthday of The Practical Pioneer.

Over at www.thepracticalpioneer.com, we'll have a dedicated pioneery kind of blog. . .everything there will be here, too in some form, but not everything here will be there.  Got it?  Good!

We've rewritten a number of appropriate posts from My Little Prairie Home, and will continue to rework and republish a few there as we go forward, but the idea is that new stuff appropriate for a homesteader/modern pioneer will be posted there and all the rest will stay at MLPH.

So, if you'd like to take a peek, head on over. . .we'd love to know what you think of the new blog.

Y'all are more than welcome!

  2. Thanks! It's certainly been a labor of love! And I think it will be a great companion site to MLPH!
