Overwhelmed with Gratitude! Ma Ingalls is Rockin'!

Charles and Caroline Ingalls. | great americans | PinterestBecause From the Mouth of Ma: A Search for Caroline Quiner Ingalls launched on Thanksgiving, I didn't really have a lot of time to give proper thanks.

Of course I want to acknowledge my wonderful husband, Ian, and my babies who all sacrificed in one way or another as I was working on the book. They have been as supportive and helpful as I could have asked for, and I am grateful beyond words.

I lead a writing group for Inspire Christian Writers, too, and my lovely group has been awesome as I've worked through the premise and landed on an approach. Their words have been so encouraging and practical and just plain wonderful. I really feel like writing is a team event. . and I have an AWESOME team.

And I can't leave out the many Little House librarians and historians who have helped me on my way numerous times.  Their dedication and knowledge and generosity has humbled me time and time again.

But you know what has surprised me?  The response from all over the world. Little House fans are EVERYWHERE. The legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder has permeated so many cultures.  And, now, I am getting to see the power and reach of that legacy through connection with writers and readers from the remotest of places.  And it is wonderful.

So, thank you all for your support. Thank you all for your help. Thank you all for the lesson I have learned through the writing of this project: Laura has managed to create a family far beyond her own little one. And it's a family I am thrilled to be a part of!

  1. Such old photos always impressed me. In my opinion, they have something unusual in themselves, something mystical. Does anybody have any thoughts about it?
